Bob Marley, Banjanan and Beach – What More Could a Girl Want
By Courtney Whilden
Stephen and I took the girls to Montego Bay, Jamaica for the holiday weekend. We had a great time! I loved trying out all the resort wear we have at Whilden so I thought I’d share a little about our trip (and the easy breezy clothes that went along with me).
We spent the day traveling, but when we arrived, it was well worth it. Comfort was the key. I wore my P448’s, Black Matte Look at Me Now Spanx and an oversized Line Shannon Sweater with a N:philanthropy t-shirt layered underneath. I carried our new Annabell Ingall Neoprene tote in white.
When we arrived in the afternoon, we immediately switched into bathing suits and hit the pool. The sun sets around 5:50 pm, so it gets dark pretty early. Stephen and I finally relaxed with some cocktails (little colorful umbrellas required!) and let the girls float around the pool.
That night, we ate at a restaurant that sat on a huge hill overlooking the ocean. The views were amazing. I wore my Rebecca Taylor leopard dress - such an easy, fun dress and it has my beloved feature, pockets!!!
The next morning, we relaxed at the pool in a cabana while the girls went down the waterslide over and over and over again! Stephen and I even tried the waterslide a few times and floated down the lazy river for a while.
That night, Olivia Page and I walked around exploring the resort. She wore her Love Shack Fancy girl’s pink dress. I bought it for both girls last spring and they still love it. I wore the new La Vie floral smocked waist dress and Audrey Allman turquoise beaded earrings. (By the way, save the date for our Trunk Show with Audrey on Saturday, March 9th. She will be in town with lots of new jewels!!)
We headed to a local Italian restaurant and it was delicious. After dinner, Olivia Page was exhausted so we went to bed while Stephen and Ellery played bingo. Ellery won a Bob Marley t-shirt!
Beach, beach, beach! We spent the day relaxing with lots of fruity drinks and Red Stripe. We kayaked, sailed and played in the ocean. The girls made friends with a few other kids on the beach while we hung out and read. (I read Educated – the best book I have read in a long time!)
Sunday night, we ate at a gorgeous seaside restaurant. I wore my orange and blue Banjanan dress. It was beautiful and one of my favorite outfits of the trip. I can’t wait for the next Banjanan delivery to come in this February! I know everyone is going to love it.
On our last day, we hung out poolside. The girls wanted to do the Kids’ Club that morning so Stephen and I went kayaking alone. We spent the rest of the day at the pool, sipping Ziggy Marley drinks, while the girls delighted in their virgin daiquiris.
That night, we went to a Jamaican BBQ restaurant where it was cool and breezy. It was my favorite food of the whole trip. We have a huge shipment of Poupette coming in now! Make sure to follow our stories to see when it arrives.
I know many of you are planning vacations for the coming months. Come check out these easy to pack, gorgeous resort wear outfits at Whilden. It will make planning for your vacation a breeze.
