It’s hard to believe, but we’re already looking ahead to buy new clothes for Fall 2019! Last week, I headed to New York City for Coterie (New York Apparel Markets) and fell in love with tons of clothes that I know you will adore too.

Day 1

When I arrived in New York, I headed straight to the Dominick Hotel to check out one of our new brands, Koch (pronounced “Cook”). (P.S. Be on the lookout for the new Erica Skirt and fabrics in gold and silver. Gorgeous!) After making some selections for pieces I definitely want to feature in the store, I rushed to the enormous Javits Convention Center for back to back appointments. This was so much fun as I got a look at several new brands we’re considering for fall. I noticed pink, pink, pink everywhere! It’s definitely the pop of color for the fall. I ended the day with an appointment in the East Village, then stayed downtown for a fun Italian dinner at Olio E Piu. Yum!

Day 2

After a quick stop off for smoothies, I headed straight to Coterie. There is so much to see and so little time! The day was packed with appointments with some of our favorite brands - Mother Denim, Rebecca Taylor, Mignonne Gavigan, Sundays and many more.  Skirts are going to be huge this fall. I loved seeing skirts paired with chunky sweaters and sneakers for day, then transforming the look with silk camis for night time. Hot!

At the end of the day, I went to my favorite multi-line showroom, Findings, where I had the opportunity to check out lots of cool brands, including Apiece Apart. Their fall line looks soooooo good!! After that, it was straight to dinner at The James Hotel.

Day 3

After two jam-packed days, the final day was no exception. I finished up some appointments, selected a few more items to feature in the store and headed back to the hotel to grab my bag and complete the final round of appointments before flying back to RDU. I have to say, the last appointments of the trip were with some brands that I absolutely love: Banjanan, Rhodes Resort and Tanya Taylor. These lines have so much to offer! Be on the lookout for lip prints! (Yes, lips are hip!) And don’t pass on your leopard prints because that trend will be even bigger this fall. I can’t wait for you to see for yourself.

Clothing for this fall is going to be amazing. Trend alert: headbands and colored fur are everywhere! We can’t wait to show you all the new pieces we’ve selected to feature at Whilden.
